Head Trainer/Owner: Michelle Motyl
Michelle Motyl established MM Training in 2007. MM Training is currently located at The San Diego Equestrian Center in Imperial Beach, California.

MM Training specializes in Show Jumping, Equitation, Hunters and Hunter Equitation. Michelle balances training at home with time spent showing on the road. She believes the foundation on basic skills is developed at home and can be strengthened through the pressure of the show ring environment. Michelle’s students compete on both the "A" and "B" circuits, as well as some local schooling shows for those students who need an extra boost, she feels smaller shows are great confidence builders while large shows stretch riders to rise to a higher standards. Michelle has the skill and knowledge to teach children and adults from beginners to advanced riders. Her “Equine Clients” range from Thoroughbreds rescued off the race track to seasoned Warmblood Hunters and Jumpers. Michelle has trained with Richard Spooner, Nick Karazissis, and Tim Grubb and has also traveled to Stuttgart, Germany to ride with Edward Gal. Michelle’s many trips to Europe have enabled her to implement classic dressage techniques with the European method of show jumping.

Assistant Instructor: Joana Brasil
Joanna, a San Diego native, has been an active competitor since she was a child. She has more than 20 years of experience showing and training horses at "B" and "A" horse shows. She earned numerous wins as a junior rider.
After her junior career, Joana continued as a professional riding and training for top dressage and hunter/jumper trainers in northern California.
After graduating she worked as a exercise rider and assistant groom to trainers on the California racetrack. Her passion with "OTTB" horses has given her new opportunities and passion for the sport. Since she has worked on the track, she has taken a personal passion for helping others understand racehorses and teach kids to ride and respect the thoroughbred horse.
We are excited to welcome her and look forward to her bringing fresh ideas to our riding program and helping us with our constant endeavor to "jump to the next level".
